It is rare that I need anything else.<\/p>\n<h4>More specialized cleaning tools (in no particular order):<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tawashi#\/media\/File:Tawashi_Japanese_scourer.jpg\">Kamenoko tawashi<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Japanese vegetable scrubbing brush, but really good for getting stuck-on food off of pots and pans.\u00a0<em>Do not use these on Teflon or soft plastic<\/em>; it is incredibly stiff and will scratch delicate surfaces.<\/p>\n<p>Baking soda \u2013 Good for removing stains (apply to surface with some water and let sit for 15 min) and odors, good for scrubbing. Can also use it for deodorant, toothpaste, and shampoo.<\/p>\n<p>Salt \u2013 Good for removing ground-in dirt, but very abrasive.<\/p>\n<p>Vinegar \u2013 Takes off limescale, can be added to baking soda to unclog drains. Can also use as a conditioning hair rinse.<\/p>\n<p>Soap \u2013 J and I use <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.drbronner.com\/pure-castile-liquid-soap#scent=Baby Unscented\">Dr. Bronner&#8217;s liquid castile soap<\/a>. We bought a gallon of it \u2013 the biggest size available! \u2013 since we anticipate using it for all of our liquid soap needs. We use it for hand-washing dishes, for example.<\/p>\n<p>A scrubby brush, rag, or cloth (sponges not recommended because of low durability and unsustainable materials). <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Luffa\">Loofah<\/a>\u00a0is a good sponge-like sponge substitute.<\/p>\n<p>You might want a toilet brush, although old toothbrushes work fine for cleaning toilets. LifeWithoutPlastic has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifewithoutplastic.com\/store\/catalogsearch\/result\/?q=toilet\">plastic-free option<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Plunger \u2013 J and I use our plunger to unclog the shower drain (I&#8217;m not sure why it gets clogged in the first place, but it happens regularly).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/berea-college-crafts-605257.shoplightspeed.com\/brooms\/\">Broom<\/a>, dust mop, vacuum come in handy occasionally.<\/p>\n<h4>Advanced cleaning tips<\/h4>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know any, &#8217;cause I don&#8217;t clean that much.
