Unfortunately, it&#8217;s pretty hard to do with just scissors and no helpers! I&#8217;ve tried to train J to cut my hair, but he has no experience and isn&#8217;t confident enough to learn. I would be willing to have a few months of bad haircuts in return for years of free grooming services (:<\/p>\n<p>Soooooo, I decided to invest in an electric hair trimmer, the type with guards. Only $25 used on eBay, about the same cost as a single mid-tier professional haircut!<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, in the first attempt, I received an alarm clock.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1613\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1613\" style=\"width: 525px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1613 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/beansproutadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_2804-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\" srcset=\"https:\/\/beansproutadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_2804-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/beansproutadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_2804-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/beansproutadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_2804-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/beansproutadventures.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/IMG_2804.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1613\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">At least it&#8217;s a fancy alarm clock?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It took some finagling, but I eventually got the hair trimmer, and the alarm clock buyer got the alarm clock. (The boxes were almost exactly the same size and shape; I can see how they got mixed up.)<\/p>\n<p>The trimmer works well!
