{"id":1104,"date":"2018-02-14T08:50:49","date_gmt":"2018-02-14T16:50:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beansproutadventures.com\/?p=1104"},"modified":"2018-02-13T17:09:36","modified_gmt":"2018-02-14T01:09:36","slug":"vegetable-volunteering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beansproutadventures.com\/index.php\/2018\/02\/14\/vegetable-volunteering\/","title":{"rendered":"Vegetable volunteering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over Christmas break, my siblings A and C <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jbgorganic.com\/volunteer\">volunteered<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jbgorganic.com\/\">Johnson&#8217;s Backyard Garden<\/a> (JBG), a local Austin <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Community-supported_agriculture\">CSA<\/a>\u00a0that delivers produce in the area.<\/p>\n<p>JBG relies pretty heavily on volunteers to maintain fields and pack the produce. To persuade people to volunteer, JBG gives each volunteer a free box of produce!!! Okay, the value-per-hour based on the cost of a box is below minimum wage, but it&#8217;s nice to go somewhere and do something.
