  1. It was so exciting!! There was probably at least $100 worth of food altogether. Wow

    I didn’t actually go “diving” for the food. When walking back from the train station, I spotted a house that had put large trash out by the curb. Of course, I wanted to look through it! And a trash bag turned out to be full of “expired” food. (By the way, best-by and expiration dates aren’t regulated, except on baby food and medication.)

    J and I don’t really buy snacks or processed food (because it comes in non-recyclable packaging), so this was a great opportunity to satisfy my junk-food cravings. Kettle corn, pea “chips”, smoked salmon, fancy chocolate, Japanese candy (and condoms?!)…
